Woodworker has to be well- versed with the hand tools like chisels, augurs and cravers together with power tools like routers, sanders, planers, lathes, saws and drills. While working the woodworker should be alert and conscious regarding the safety norms. In anything you do safety comes first.  While working wear tight fitting clothes and tie your long hair as they can be easily pulled by the rotating parts. Use safety glasses to protect your eyes, slip resistant slippers to avoid falls and dust masks to prevent dust getting inside the lungs.

Use hearing protection to protect your ears and close fitting hand gloves while handling the work material.

Before using any type of machines read the power tool manuals and the instructions. It is always good to check the machines before operating it., intermittent, maintenance of the tool for its proper future functioning is essential. If the machine is out of order and beyond repair conditions discard it immediately. Don’t take your hands near to the cutting area, use a push sticks to push the material near to the blade. While working with the machine keep yourself alert and do not get distracted by television or radio or do not entertain any costumer.

Keep your workplace clean and see to it that the start and stop button are on the easy reach of the operator. Remember the machines are made to help the people to perform the task efficiently but they should never forget how to use it is in their hands.
